Jorge

Later on Monday afternoon, we decided to split into four groups and hand out tracts to people in the neighborhood. While my group was walking down the road, a man came up to us and asked us what we were doing. He spoke a good amount of English, so we were all able to converse with him. We told him about our involvement with the church nearby, and he explained that he used to live in Dallas but moved here because his daughter, Jorge, is very sick. The more he spoke, the stronger I sensed that this was a divine appointment. Michelle asked if he attended a local church and he said no. Then she asked if we could pray for his daughter, to which he agreed. He told us his home was nearby if we would like to pray for her in person. We followed him to his house and met his wife and some of his other kids, and he brought his daughter out to us in his arms. He didn't know how to explain her diagnosis, but she was unable to walk and talk. We laid hands on her and prayed for her. Afterwards, he said that she sometimes responds to music and video and we offered to sing a song for her. As we sang amazing grace, we felt the presence of God in the room. The father had to get to work, so we started to leave, but he stopped us to say he wanted to go to church and asked when the next service was. We excitedly answered him and when we got back to the house, we took Mike over to the house to show him where it was so he can follow up later. Please pray for Jorge and her family as God clearly wants to do something powerful in their life!

You are an amazing group of young people serving an amazing God! Thank you to
each one of you for your sensitivity and obedience to Him! Several days
before the trip began, I was praying for the team and the Lord impressed upon
me these words from Isaiah 55: 10-11:
"As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower
and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
Now, in light of the abundance of "water" you all are experiencing there in
Ciudad Victoria, the opening verses of this chapter also speak loudly. In my
Bible, the chapter is entitled: "Invitation to the Thirsty" and begins as
follows:
"Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost."
Isaiah 55:1

Amazing words for an amazing trip. My prayers will continue with you for many
amazing appointments ordained by Him.
My love and blessings for all of you--and especially for my sweethearts,
Kevin, Ian, and Aubs ♡

That last message is really from Christine Barnes who is having trouble sending her family her comments. I love her family, too... but that was really NOT from me!

Thinking about you all constantly, and praying that God will enlarge His Kingdom in many ways and forms while you are there in Mexico. WOW! While reading about the meeeting of and experience in praying for Jorge in her home,I felt as though I was reading an excerpt right out of the New Testament. Praise God for his working, and for your sensitivity and obedience to His leading. Sending love and warm wishes to all, especially Josh, we miss you.

It's so exciting to hear all about the adventures God has you on... and how He is using you to touch the lives of others... as He touches your lives as well! We are thinking of you and praying for you every day! "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful..." Heb 10:23
